How To Adjust The Height Of A Dining Chair

For chairs with armrests, one or two handles are usually found under the seat. These handles are used to adjust the chair's height. Lifting the handle upwards raises the seat, while pressing it downwards lowers it.

For swivel chairs, a fixing screw is usually found at the bottom. Loosen the screw, adjust to the desired position, and then tighten it again.

For height-adjustable swivel chairs, there are usually two adjustment levers under the seat: one for vertical height adjustment and the other for horizontal position adjustment. These can be adjusted directly from the seat.

If the chair's height adjustment handle is damaged or unusable, it may need to be replaced.

If the chair cannot be raised or lowered, it may be due to a loose fixing nut or screw, or a damaged gas spring. In this case, locate the loose part and tighten it, or replace the gas spring.

If the gas pressure in the chair's height adjustment system is insufficient, it may be due to a leaking gas spring or a faulty gas pump. In this case, check and repair the leak or replace the gas pump.
